For the Benefit of Mr Kite

Following last week's hughly successful Pirate Day, WMS had Hawaiian Shirt Day today. Aloha!

This time the festivities were joined in by almost all of the unit. Everyone except Ian.

After all that fun we had lunch. Jodie and I attempted to hook Jules up with one of the waiters but as yet he hasn't called her. See Jule's blog for more details.

And so, Hawaiian day draws to a close but never fear we've already begun planning for next Friday - Medieval Day.

I thought that this was so bizzare that I had to post it somewhere so people could laugh at it too.

In other news, I have a driving lesson this afternoon and possible two games of soccer this evening. Oh, and it's my birthday tomorrow!

Ahoy landlovers. Last Friday was Pirate Day at Web Management Services. Basically, Jules, Jodie and I decided that we needed to make our Friday's more "fun" and Pirate Day was the result of our brainstorming.

Of course, we all came in full pirate regalia:

Jules came with a pirate hat, vest, bandana and parrot:


Jodie brought a wig, a scarf and a bubble-blowing sword:


Finally I came with a pirate hat, hook and glow in the dark sword:


By about lunch-time we had begun the sword fights and of course Julie won:


All in all a successful day.

Yes, Tom lost a tooth. It was a bit worrying at the time especially for Tom but once we both got over it was pretty cool. How many 22-year-old's lose their baby teeth?

The toothfairy brought Tomas a sticker and a card.

I know you're all dying to know the full story so here goes...

Tomas still has some of his baby teeth and recently one of his bottom canine's has become quite loose. On the evening in question, I was up at the doctors getting prescription and Tomas was home alone. Apparently, Tom was flossing his teeth and got the floss stuck under the loose tooth. This appears to by how the tooth actually came out. By all accounts, there was a lot of blood. Eventually Tom managed to free the piece of floss from under his tooth and at the same time, his tooth from the gum. When I raced home, he was sitting on the couch playing with it.

It would have been more exciting if it had of fell out on the soccer field or basketball court.

I did take pictures of the tooth (which we still have) but as Vanessa reads this, I will decline to put it up.

My birthday has crept up on me this year. It's almost a week to go until the big 2-2. It's kind of scary to think that I will be that old. When I think of 22 I think of Vanessa, which I'm sure she's pleased about. I can always feel safe in the knowledge that Tom will always be older than me (he'll turn 23 in June).

I was thinking about things that I would like for my birthday and I thought I'd rehash and review the Christmas time. So here it is bigger and better.

In other news...It's pirate day tomorrow at work. Not sure what I'm going to wear yet but expect pictures.

Forgive me blogger for I have sinned. It has been 11 days since my last post.

I do have good news though - I finished a cryptic crossword. Amazing and what's more it only took me a day and half. I will tell you now before you all think I'm some cryptic genius, it was the cryptic in The Big Issue . The Big Issue cryptic isn't the most difficult one around but it's a good starting point. Some clues I'm particularly proud of:

• Her ingenuity first will fade (6) - WITHER

In other news, I bought a Kinks CD yesterday. Love it! Tom is going to get very sick of it quickly I think. My favourite tracks are All of the Day and All of the Night and Victoria. Dedicated Follower of Fashion and Lola also rank highly.

Have you ever clicked on the next blog link at the top of your blog's page? I hadn't until today. The blog next to mine when I first clicked (it's a random thing see below) is called rawr belongs to a girl who lives in San Diego in the United States and has bipolar disorder. She has also just broken up with her boyfriend.

My second neighbour was Priscilla Chua with her blog Love Hurts. It's quite hard to read as she's blogged in some kind of pseudo-language with some kind of pseudo-punctuation system employed.

This blog neighbour thing got me started so I looked at everyone else's neighbours. Vanessa's neighbour was Carquinez News which appears to be a newsletter for Crockett California. Why it's called Carquinez News I don't know and probably will never know. Cameron's neighbour was in spanish. I babeled it at Alta Vista and discovered that it's a page about Internet security. It did come out with this this curious translation in it though:

Please, to ALL the people in charge, to put the batteries so that this does not return to happen MORE NEVER.

Lastly Dad's neighbour. The first one I got was in Taiwanese so not really appropriate. I tried again and got one that I could read. life in the uk........... has an interesting template but it's a bit confusing. There only really seem to be pictures on it as well.

Well another festive season has passed and I am back at work again. I'm not really sad, just really hungry. My body isn't used to the size of the gap between breakfast and lunch and by about 10:30 today I was starving. I held out until 12:10 though before I went to get my lunch. I am now rewarding my body for it's good work in holding out with a subway cookie.

I had a good Christmas this year. Lots of good food and company. I will take some pictures of and summarise the presents when I get home today al la Vanessa.

The highlight of the post Christmas period was the addition of a much needed new item of furniture to our household. Finally, Tom and I have a new bed. Hoorah! Again, pictures to come later.

More later - right now I feel like a nap. Will my body every adjust?
