Lent is over!
Hooray!
Last year for lent, I gave up junk food. I really enjoyed it and it drastically reduced the amount of bad food that ate for longer than just lent. So this year, I decided to do it again. After the first week, it was pretty easy going. I even managed to have a few meals out that included dessert without breaking my fast. However, that is all behind me for lent is over.
To celebrate the end of lent, I suggested to Tomas that we go out for breakfast today and I could have pancakes (GF ricotta pancakes from Cream Patisserie at Coorparoo...). Tom forgot this morning and I couldn't be much bothered getting off the couch so we decided not to go out. Instead, I have made Pastel de Angel - Angel Cake - using a recipe from my a cookbook that my Spanish teacher has. It is very simple - all you need is some eggs, sugar, almond meal and amaranth (south american grain). We will be having it with ice-cream when Tomas gets off the phone.
In Fenella news, she got a new collar today. She managed to remove her old one this morning which was getting too small for her. We bought her one almost the same as the other one. Same punk stylings and glow-in-the-dark coolness different colour. She's now a green collared kitty. Tom think she looks very irish.
Anyway, must go and prepare our lent breaking feast.
